Shot on iPhone Macro Challenge

Photography

SUMMARY

Apple’s iconic Shot on iPhone campaign celebrates photography captured on the devices we carry with us every day. As technology advances, these cameras are no exception. One of the recent introductions to the wide range of iPhone camera features is macro photography. Early 2022 marked the opening of submissions for the Shot on iPhone Macro Challenge. I had the honor of being one the challenge winners—allowing my image to be shared with the world.

My winning photo features a detailed close-up of a Fiddle Leaf. Taken in my apartment, the sun was shining onto the backs of the leaves during golden hour, illuminating every cell. While my original submission had some small edits, the photo used by Apple (and pictured here) on their post, website, and billboard was the completely unedited original.

After the embargo was lifted, my photo was put up on the iconic Shot on iPhone billboards worldwide. Seeing my image on such a large scale was truly humbling. I never would have expected my photo to be recognized in such an immense way.
